This is a chance for players to compete for spots on the depth chart in addition to helping them get back into their flow. Hendon Hooker, a former quarterback for Tennessee, will be attempting to secure the number-two job behind Jared Goff with the Detroit Lions this season by doing that before to the 2024 season.
It was reported earlier this year that Hooker had some difficulty during practice. According to reports, he had trouble with accruracy, but he also appeared to be adjusting and growing more comfortable every day. However, behind Goff, seasoned quarterback Nate Sudfeld appeared to be the more reliable option. But, rumors have it that Hooker’s chance to be the team’s backup quarterback won’t go anytime soon.

However, Sudfeld may make it a closer contest than most people realize. It’s not always easy to run a third-team offense the way Sudfeld did on Wednesday. Observing that competition will be entertaining. Given that Hooker is only in his second season in the NFL, he offers more upside in the quarterback room than Sudfeld would if Goff were to falter at any point this season. Hooker was recovering in 2023 from a late-season knee injury.

Since his freshman year, the Illinois native has distinguished himself, and in his junior year, he was named to the all-state team.
He recently reduced the number of schools he was recruiting to four: Texas A&M, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Michigan will still be vying for his services. This past weekend, he paid an official visit to the Michigan Wolverines, who are seen to be the best fit for his talents.
