Red Hot Chili Peppers Releases New Parks Project Collection Inspired by “Californication”

Three limited-edition items honoring Yosemite National Park are part of the new range.

Twenty-five years after the release of their beloved album Californication in 1999, the Red Hot Chili Peppers are commemorating the project’s anniversary with a new range of merchandise that will make fans nostalgic for the 1999 release. In honor of Yosemite National Park, the iconic rock group collaborated with the Parks Project to create a limited-edition capsule collection.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers x Parks Project Yosemite collection, which is now being sold online, includes three items that draw influence from the California national park, the band’s album art, and the music video for the song “Californication.” The band’s deep connection to Yosemite National Park and their desire to see it preserved are reflected in the capsule collection, which includes a graphic T-shirt, long-sleeved tee, and a woven outdoor blanket featuring motifs from the famous Chili Peppers. Other elements include wasps, butterflies, and Yosemite landmarks.

The only short-sleeved shirt from the new collaboration, it has lyrics from the album’s lead single, “Around the World,” and images from the “Californication” music video on the front and back.

The front of this long-sleeved t-shirt has a screenprinted graphic that draws inspiration from the Californication album cover. The graphic shows images of all of the band members behind a native marsh hawk seen in Yosemite.

According to a release, Jack Gray, president of the Parks Project, “We are extremely excited to partner with the Red Hot Chili Peppers on this special collection.” “The designs perfectly align with our mission to promote conservation and inspire a love for the outdoors, drawing inspiration from the band’s boundary-pushing artistic style and the breathtaking landscapes of Yosemite.”
