Susanna Reid interrupts GMB as she makes tragic breaking news announcement
Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley interrupted the regular schedule of Good Morning Britain to deliver some heart-wrenching news.
The duo took to the morning broadcast on Tuesday (October 22) to inform viewers about a deadly train accident in Wales. Richard, who is 68, confirmed the death of one person and injuries to another 15 in the terrible crash.
During the programme, Susanna said: “Good morning; it is eight o’clock, and breaking news this morning. A Large-scale emergency services operation, including fire and rescue and the coastguard, is underway in Wales following a rail collision involving two trains.”
Adding further details, Richard stated: “One man has died, and another 15 were injured when the Transport for Wales service to and from Shrewsbury crashed on a single track line last night.”
The tragic incident occurred near Llanbrynmair, on the stretch between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth, at around 7:30pm the night before (October 22).
British Transport Police mentioned that they received detailed reports which led them to the area around Llanbrynmair, where there was “a low-speed train collision involving two trains”.

Katy Rickett, a GMB reporter, highlighted that the specifics of the event are not abundantly clear as of yet.
Two witnesses relayed their direct experience of the event, one branding it “brutal,” having seen a train abruptly slow down from what they estimated to be 50 mph.
Another witness recounted the intense moment when a train conductor realised there was another stationary train on the tracks and, unable to stop in time, instructed passengers to “brace themselves” for the impending impact.
Katy remarked: “It sounds absolutely horrendous, and the worst part of this is that one man has died.”
