Born on March 6, 1946, in Cambridge, England, David Jon Gilmour developed an early passion for music, mastering the guitar during his teenage years. In 1967, he joined Pink Floyd, stepping in as the band’s guitarist and co-lead vocalist. His arrival marked a turning point for the group, leading to the creation of seminal albums such as “The Dark Side of the Moon,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “The Wall.”
Beyond his work with Pink Floyd, Gilmour pursued a successful solo career, releasing five studio albums.
