Birmingham signs Leonard, a midfielder from Brighton.

Marc Leonard, a midfielder for Brighton, has joined Birmingham City for an undisclosed amount, making this his seventh summer acquisition under new manager Chris Davies. The 22-year-old Scot, who started his career at Heart of Midlothian, has been on loan at Northampton Town for the past two seasons. He agreed to a four-year contract, pending approval from the FA and EFL. “I thought the timing was appropriate,” Leonard said to BluesTV.

The American-owned Blues have raised eyebrows in the Midlands with their summer spending. Along with paying an undisclosed cost for Charlton Athletic and winger Emil Hansson, the Blues also paid a seven-figure sum for Hearts full-back Alex Cochrane.
